Bad Luck Mitigation (BLM) is a system built into the Upgrade Interface that prevents players from experiencing extremely long streaks of failures on upgrade recipes. Every failed attempt permanently increases your personal success chance for that specific recipe.
How BLM Works

| BLM + base chance = 100% | Next attempt is guaranteed to succeed |
BLM is tracked per recipe, per account. It never expires between sessions — it only resets on a successful upgrade.
Example
A recipe with a base 10% success rate:

Guarantee Threshold
Once your total (base + BLM) reaches 100%, the upgrade system guarantees success on the next attempt regardless of the displayed roll. This is confirmed in-game and ensures no recipe can fail indefinitely.
Which Recipes Use BLM
BLM applies to all upgrade recipes with less than 100% success rate. This includes:
- All Apex gear upgrades (10% base)
- Owner (U) Shard crafting (10% base)
- Crown of the Kings (25% base)
- Crown of the Gods
- All weapon upgrades (35–45% base)
- Shield chain upgrades (35–45% base)
- All pet upgrades (75% base)
- Blood Slayer Helm (i) (35% base)
Recipes with 100% success rate (e.g. Slayer gear, Elderblood Boots/Gloves, Dark Nexus weapons) do not use BLM — they always succeed.
Displaying BLM
The Upgrade Interface shows your actual current success chance including BLM in the upgrade feedback message. You can always see exactly where you stand before attempting.
Tips
- Never abandon a recipe mid-chain — your BLM accumulation is saved permanently and will eventually guarantee success
- Apex recipes (10% base) guarantee success after 45 failures — plan your materials accordingly
- Pet upgrades (75% base) guarantee after only 12–13 failures — rarely a concern
- BLM is one of the most player-friendly systems in the game — the longer you fail, the closer you are to a guaranteed success
