Stats

Mechanics

• Fast-moving projectiles are colour-coded by attack style: blue = Magic (Protect from Magic), green = Ranged (Protect from Missiles), red = Melee (Protect from Melee).
• Wrong prayer deals 80–100% max HP damage — it can one-shot.
• At 50% HP, Umbra summons an Umbra Echo minion that must be killed before damage can resume.

Death mechanic

The group shares a pool of 4 lives per team member, and every death in the group draws from that same pool. The encounter ends once all lives are used.

Strategy

Umbra strips away the fixed attack rotation other bosses use and replaces it with a read: watch the projectile colour, switch prayer, repeat. There’s no pattern to memorize, just reaction time — and getting it wrong is punishing enough to nearly one-shot you outright.

It’s the more accessible of the two Rune-tier hunts since it scales down to a genuine solo fight, unlike Rift of the Titans’ two-player minimum. The unlock itself is steep though: the Rune Trophy plus 7,500 Kerberos kills means this is very much a “you’ll get here eventually” boss rather than a rush target.
